Minecraft Player Uses Creeper Heads In Farm as Heads of Lettuce

One Minecraft player showed off a unique way to use Creeper heads to stand in for lettuce heads in their garden build, making for an explosive crop.

Frustrated by the lack of lettuce in the game Minecraft one player took it upon themselves to add the vegetable to the game in an unusual way. Repurposing a Creeper’s head for lettuce in a garden is just the latest in a trend of Minecraft players using common (or in this case uncommon) in-game objects for another decorative reason.

Minecraft‘s ability to decorate and create beautiful vistas is one of the primary reasons the game has continued for so long. With the recent Minecraft Caves & Cliffs update, players have been able to add even more beautiful visuals to their builds with new items like dripstone, grow berries, and dripleaves. These new items, which generate in the updated caves of players’ worlds, allow for even more creativity and imagination in a player’s builds or decorations. However, even after a decade’s worth of additions via updates, there are still some things that cannot be found in a Minecraft world. Which will often force players to find creative solutions.

For instance, Minecraft player OneActuary4592 posted a video of their garden, in which they used Creeper heads in place of lettuce. Lettuce is, of course, not one of the many crops that can be grown in Minecraft, so OneActuary4592 decided to get creative by using Creeper heads. Green and blocky, the Creeper heads do look a bit like heads of lettuce might look in Minecraft. Sticking them here and there in the garden, OneActuary4592 does manage to add a bit of diversity and color to the build. The only problem is actually managing to get Creeper heads.

Creeper heads are purely decorative items, which only drop if the player manages to kill it using another Creeper’s charged explosion. This is an extremely rare and difficult to obtain block, as a result, which is why many players don’t have them lying around in their survival worlds. Of course, players can wear a Creeper’s head to reduce the detection range for other Creepers or use them to craft a unique banner. However, usually Creeper heads have no use other than being purely for decoration, so using them as lettuce isn’t necessarily a waste.

While players are always on the lookout for better ways to decorate their Minecraft world, it would be highly unusual to see a build with Creeper heads strewn about. However, as OneActuary4592 has shown the community, it’s a great tool if one needs to make it look like they have some lettuce growing.
