She-Hulk Is Another Marvel Series Winner For Disney+

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law arrives on Disney+ on August 18th and over the nine-episode season will introduce the character’s live-action debut.

Tatiana Maslany stars as attorney Jennifer Walters who is accidentally exposed to the Gamma infected blood of her cousin Bruce (Mark Ruffalo) and as a result, becomes a Hulk when triggered by anger or fear.

Unlike her cousin, she maintains control of her personality when she is in Hulk mode which allows her to maintain control and transform at will.

Unwilling to give up her career as a lawyer to become a hero, Jennifer returns to her career but soon finds that doing the right thing when danger arises is not always the image that employers are looking for.

Jennifer soon finds work representing enhanced individuals in a new division of a firm under the stipulation that she works in her She-Hulk persona to take advantage of the growing media awareness she has generated.

Her work puts her into contact with characters from the MCU both new and old and like Deadpool, Jennifer frequently breaks the fourth wall to address the audience.

While I was able to see the first four shows in the series, there is much to be excited over as not only does the show offer a nice mix of humor, action, and characters, but there are also abundant cameos that support the show nicely but never let the audience forget who the star of the series is.

There are also some good themes in the series about how women are viewed and need to conform to expectations in society and work. The series handles the subject matter well without making it the focal point of the story.

There was some concern from fandom about the CGI in the early trailers for the film but I found the final product to be fine and in keeping with what may expect from a series.

Viewers will want to make sure to watch through the credits as episodes contain a bonus scene which often provides a humorous conclusion to each episode.

Maslany and the cast are great and it will be interesting to see where the series goes as well as how She-Hulk will be used in the MCU going forward. Disney has really found their stride with the new Marvel series on Disney+ like Ms. Marvel, the series is a fun live-action debut for a Marvel character and I cannot wait to see what comes next.
