All of the 90 Day Fiancé cast members who’ve made money by promoting weight loss tips and tricks that may be useless and even dangerous.
When 90 Day Fiancé cast members become popular enough to hawk items on Instagram, a lot of them promote weight loss products like slimming teas, or plastic surgery clinics. In the eyes of fans, these TLC stars easily transition into “snake oil salesmen” as soon as they get these “paid partnership” deals. In some cases, promoted posts about weight loss products which may not be effective incentivize followers to hit the unfollow button quickly. However, there are fans who may buy products that the likes of Angela Deem, Darcey Silva, or Big Ed Brown advertise. This is because of the considerable weight loss that these celebs are showcasing, on-screen and off.
While Instagram started off as a fun social media platform where people could highlight their photography skills, the last few years have seen an influx of influencers on the app who use it for monetary gain. Most often, these Internet celebrities share sponsored content, and their loyal followers lap it up. One thing that fans have noticed about 90 Day Fiancé cast members is that most of the collaborations that they are involved with seem to promote possibly misleading and unhealthy weight loss products.
Some fans believe that these ads are dangerous because the stars are trying to push fake products, when many of them have gotten weight loss surgery or plastic surgery. They may also use Photoshop or other apps to appear slimmer in their pics. Given that fans see these 90 Day Fiancé celebs on their TV screens every week, or have been following them on social media for ages, they do know that their weight loss secret is certainly not detox tea. So, why is it that stars still insist on trying to sell these harmful diet supplements, only to get trolled mercilessly?
The cast member whose 90 Day Fiancé weight loss journey has been the most talked about is Angela. The Georgia resident was even rumored to be getting her own fitness-themed spin-off. While that didn’t happen, in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6, Angela did showcase her transformation, starting at 273 pounds and eventually weighing 190 pounds . On the show, fans watched Angela getting gastric balloon surgery and liposuction as she became a size 11, when she was originally a size 22. However, on social media, Angela was shilling weight loss products to fans, from diet gummies to slimming teas. These “getting a flat tummy” tips from Angela were something that fans couldn’t digest. In fact, Angela was deemed a hypocrite, since she claimed that she decided to get weight loss surgery because no amount of quick fixes and crash diets worked on her body.
Former 90 Day Fiancé star Nicole gained sympathy when her fitness trainer fiance from Morocco, Azan Tefou, said she was a little bit “big” upon seeing her in person. Azan also took Nicole to work out at his gym, and called her “lazy” while declaring that he was only “55%” attracted to her. Nicole may have taken Azan’s insults seriously since she revealed that she was working on slimming down, and even lost 13 pounds by following the Keto diet. Soon enough, Nicole started a weight loss challenge on an app, where she bet $30 that she would lose 4% of her body weight in four weeks. However, fans didn’t see any noticeable difference in Nicole’s figure. They began mocking her further when she started endorsing products such as diet teas, weight loss shot drinks, supplements, and subscription box services. She was called a scammer, and with Nicole also posting click bait stories about her own death, all that she seemed to lose was Instagram followers, rather than unwanted pounds.
Julia, who’s married to Brandon Gibbs, is considered by 90 Day Fiancé fans to be one of the franchise’s most honest cast members. Former dancer Julia was a bodybuilder in the past, and was also seen applying for a gym trainer role on 90 Day Fiancé. While Julia’s co-stars, such as Yara Zaya and Rebecca Parrott, advocated for plastic surgery, Julia implied that they were lazy and should be going to the “gym club” instead. However, one of Julia’s latest Instagram posts showed her hawking flat tummy tea. It didn’t help that Julia looked like she’d gotten some work done on her face as she posed from two different angles to show off her flat tummy in “before and after” pics. Disappointed fans called out Julia for being a hypocrite and tricking them with a sham product, when she’s always been tiny and healthy.
